About this property

Welcome to Playa Los Arcos Hotel Beach Resort & Spa Puerto Vallarta

Playa Los Arcos Hotel Beach Resort & Spa Puerto Vallarta offers colonial-style rooms and suites, some featuring views of the bay. Facilities include three on-site restaurants, a spa, outdoor pools, and direct beach access. Guests can enjoy amenities such as free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, parking, room service, and an airport shuttle, although the property does not welcome pets.

Situated in the lively Zona Romántica neighborhood, the hotel is surrounded by a range of bars, galleries, and global dining options. The nearby Los Muertos Beach, just a short walk away, is a popular spot with vendors, water sports, and a pier for boat trips. Visitors also appreciate the proximity to the Puerto Vallarta Malecon promenade and the quieter, scenic Conchas Chinas Beach further along the coast.

Guest reviews highlight the friendly and attentive staff, with particular praise for the service during challenging situations and around the spa facilities. The rooms are noted for their traditional Mexican decor and cleanliness, though some mention that they are older and not recently renovated, with limited furnishings such as lighting. Accessibility may be a concern due to limited elevator service and stairs.

This hotel suits travelers seeking a smaller, boutique experience in a neighborhood with a vibrant atmosphere and easy access to local attractions. It is especially fitting for those who appreciate a pet-free environment and value being close to Puerto Vallarta’s distinctive cultural and social scene. While the food offerings are generally well received, they tend toward traditional Mexican cuisine and buffet style.

We made late reservations so we stayed in one of the few rooms available. That being said, it was clean, had a good air conditioner, hot water, clean towels, etc. It was small because we were near a stairwell. The employees were great. But, the main reason I will be returning is because they do not allow pets. I get sick when I stay in pet friendly hotels. It’s so nice that Los Arcos is pet free. Thank you.

I just did the day pass it ends up being $70, (says 60- was 70$ with tax?) and it includes breakfast lunch drinks and I get a good spot on thier private beach with a towel. Good was delicious and you got access to the pools. Overall it was worth that I would do it again. The staff was very friendly and normally I'm not a big buffet person but the food was really good and fresh.

Nice little boutique type hotel right in the hustle and bustle of Old Vallarta (Romanic zone). Rooms are simple with traditional Mexican decor. Nothing fancy but sufficient for the amount of time you spend in it. Keep in mind the rooms are older and not renovated to keep your expectations in check with realistic expectations, my only complaint is no lamps!lol Hotel lobby and restaurant are beautiful with a romantic feel. We did find it difficult to get pool chairs but the staff will help you find a chair on the (busy, public) beach. If you can’t do stairs, I would be hesitant to recommend. There is 1 elevator that was down twice and it’s small/slow. It also only goes to the 3rd floor, we stayed on the 4th so walked a flight each time we left/came to the room. No issue for us but my husband did help a couple seniors that seemed to struggle. Buffet was the only ok. The food itself was good, just not many choices and definitely traditional Mexican food (obviously lol). Breakfast was good with fresh French toast, eggs, omelettes etc. Lunch and dinner were basically the same each day. We were all inclusive but did eat at a few restaurants in the area to break up the meals at the buffet. Overall, we would definitely stay again. We’ve been to PV 16 times and typically stay in the Hotel Zone, my husband and I both agree, staying in Old Vallarta is now our preference and we’d stay at Playa Los Arco again as well! We loved the small hotel (vs large resorts), staff and location can’t be beat if you like to walk and see the town). *this area is very LGBTQ friendly, if that’s what your looking for, you’ll feel at home…if that offends you, please stay elsewhere, we found it to be nothing but a friendly, fun and accepting area (as a heterosexual couple)!*

Just got back from Puerto Vallarta and Playa Los Arcos after the violence and looting last weekend (22 Feb 2026). I rarely leave reviews but felt compelled this time. The hotel and staff took great care of all the guest under very difficult circumstances on Sunday. They kept the guests safe, comfortable, and well fed. They had to scramble on staffing and food and did a wonderful job. Literally the whole town was closed for two days. They managed to keep folks fed when there were no alternatives around. Massive kudos to the entire staff! Five stars for the service and security in a very difficult time!

We had a great stay at Hotel Los Arcos! There was a small delay at check-in, but once the issue was resolved, the staff was very helpful and even assisted us with getting our things to the room, which we really appreciated. The pool in the center of the hotel is beautiful and such a relaxing spot. We especially loved how close the hotel is to the beach—just a short walk and you’re right there! The food was good overall. They offer a different type of cuisine each day, which is fun, though I was really craving seafood during our stay. Nonetheless, everything we tried was tasty. Can’t complain—we enjoyed our time and would definitely consider coming back!

SPA at Los Arcos is a perfect spot for a pedicure. Especially if MAVY is your technician. I am a retired pedicurist of 25 years and I can finally say I met my match. In my opinion MAVY has skill level which I respect and appreciate. My in grown toe nail doesn’t hurt at all after she has worked on it. MAVY is skilled and very personable. I look forward to seeing her again while in PV. Thank you Mavy
